Extend the thumb and index finger of both hands while the remaining three fingers are folded. Fingertips of the thumb and index finger are close to each other but not connected. Place one hand on your cheek below your eye while the other hand is farther in front of your body. Move both hands downwards simultaneously while touching the thumbs and index fingers. This sign indicates two people shedding tears at the same time, hence the indication of sympathy.
